Originally called Rapunzel (and released in Asia and parts of Europe with said name instead, while earning the subtitle "A Tangled Tale"), it is still based on the classic fairy tale and is also still a straight-up fairy tale film, despite what that new title might indicate.
Flynn is an experienced thief, but as he begins to fall in love with Rapunzel, he changes his priorities. Looking for a place to hide, Flynn climbs into the tower where Rapunzel hits him on the head with a frying pan, knocking him out. When the teen manages to get out, Mother Gothel isn't pleased and does what she can to manipulate her back into the tower for good.
She then hits him again (we hear but don't see the impact). The Stabbington brothers lower Flynn down through a roof opening so that he can steal a royal crown. Pinocchio (1940) Pinocchio appears in the Snuggly Duckling in the top right hand corner above where Flynn is hanging.
A bush starts to shake and Rapunzel is scared, but then out comes a little bunny. He then becomes Eugene's teaching assistant for the latter's own training class. PLOT:

In "The Wrath of Ruthless Ruth", when Rapunzel takes shelter at the Snuggly Duckling to avoid increased scrutiny by the royal guard, only for the Captain of the Guards to walk in, he accidentally caused Ruthless Ruth's club to fall off its handle, resulting in her ghost possessing Shorty, demanding they, "Listen Up" if they hope to see the light of day. Stacy ran to Talbot for help, and the women cooked up a story to protect Stacy from Mark’s vindictive family. During a song, many blades are held on Flynn. Some big thugs grab Flynn in a pub, followed by Rapunzel hitting one of them with her hair. We see a little bit of blood on Flynn's belly (in his partially open shirt) and then some that appears to be stained through his shirt after he's been stabbed. Flynn hits two guards so that he can reach through prison bars and grab one of the Stabbington brothers. During that, he throws the ax and it nearly (accidentally) hits another man. With the tower door sealed shut, the only way in and out for Mother Gothel is via Rapunzel lowering or hoisting her up with her hair, meaning the young woman's only friend is her chameleon, Pascal. An extreme amount of suspenseful, ominous, heavily dramatic and action-oriented music occurs in the film. There's talk of the King and Queen hoping ever year on Rapunzel's birthday that she'll return, and they send various lit lanterns floating into the sky as a symbol of that. One thug then rushes at and bowls over a small group of other guards.

Shorty is a supporting character in Disney's 2010 animated feature film, Tangled. Mother Gothel telling Rapunzel lies about the outside world in hopes of it scaring her into not wanting to go out into it. Rapunzel then agrees to stay with Mother Gothel forever if she allows her to save Flynn. He then must spar with Maximus who's holding a sword in his mouth and knocks the pan from Flynn's hand. A dam or similar structure is broken and the massive floodwaters sweep away various guards and Maximus, while that also topples a large vertical rock structure that falls toward Rapunzel and Flynn as they run in front of it. That includes pushing him against it, and slamming him inside it using her long hair, with him then falling out and landing on her. Fate Shorty is drunken at every moment, apparently.
